Have fun, defining your personal style, using the Swish Squad Style Template. Click here to download.
Pair up with someone in your unit (or a friend/sibling from home) who rocks a different style to you, and swap ‘signature outfits’ for a day!
Do you switch from sporty to preppy? Go from glam to grunge? Swap bright colours for black?
Report back to your unit meeting: did people treat you differently in your new look? Did it bring out a whole new side to you? (Were you more confident, dressed ‘glam’? Channelling ‘sporty’, did you run for the school bus?!)
Share ‘before and after’ photos: which style do your unit friends think is more ‘you’? (You might be surprised!)

Make a ‘Blobby’
Now you’re a needle girl, you’re going to find yourself creating lots of leftover scraps. Don’t throw them away – have a play! Create your own blobby – a funny, blob-shaped toy, stuffed with fabric scraps. It can be any shape or size, any kind of fabric. Decorate as you fancy, then give it a REALLY CUTE name.

Download our A4 poster template here with cool, colour-in frame. Write three promises to be more sustainable, then turn them into a poster to put on your bedroom wall. Even better, stick them in front window of your home (that way you persuade others to keep your sustainable promises too).

Using fabric scraps, recreate one of your favourite wardrobe pieces in miniature. Download the cute fashion doll (Barbie, Sindy) clothes patterns to get you started. Or fashion something to fit your old teddy bear. You could even go super-mini and make a dress that’s doll’s house size!
Gift it to a younger buddy, (a sibling, maybe, or a younger section member from Girlguiding). Watch their face light up!

Find your first ‘client’: offer to give a friend/family member a sustainable fashion makeover!

Inspired, devise your own sustainable style questionnaire: 10 questions to capture your client’s lifestyle, and wardrobe hopes and dreams (for example, do you want to feel comfy – or look cool? Which item do you wish you wore more often? Which item makes you ‘feel’ great?).
Dive into their wardrobe, and pull together an ensemble to transform them. Add pieces of your own, if they’ll make the outfit ‘ping’!
